From the 9th to 12th October the Commissioner visited a number of Domestic Abuse Services in Cornwall who demonstrated good practice including:
- First Light SW
- Barnardos SW
- Harbour Housing
- The Women’s Centre Cornwall
The Commissioner spoke at the launch of Safer Cornwall’s domestic abuse and sexual violence strategy and said, “I welcome the joint working and commissioning I have seen in Cornwall, bringing agencies together to play their role in preventing and responding to violence against women and girls”.
Other speakers included Laura Bates, founder of Everyday Sexism, Michelle Griffiths-Robinson OLY, Ambassador for Women’s Aid and Nathaniel Hawthorne from Beyond Equality.
