On the 21st of September the Commissioner attended the second UKPRP Violence, Health & Society (VISION) annual conference which focuses on responding to violence across the life course. This included sessions on early years and teenagers, families and support, working life, poverty and economic impacts and older people which the Commissioner presented on.
The Commissioner said, “I recognise that older people have additional vulnerabilities which can make them at higher risk of abuse, and which mean their abuse may go undetected or unreported. I acknowledge that the risk becomes higher when an older person experiences changing or complex health and social care needs.
