We are delighted to announce that Nicole Jacobs, the Domestic Abuse Commissioner for England and Wales, has been awarded a Damehood in recognition of her exceptional dedication to supporting victims and survivors of domestic abuse.
Since her appointment in 2019, Dame Nicole’s leadership has been instrumental in amplifying the voices of victims and survivors, addressing the ‘postcode lottery’ in service provision, reforming the justice response to domestic abuse and ensuring support for migrant survivors. This work is only made possible by the resilience and relentless advocacy of countless organisations and individuals that have fought for decades to ensure these issues are recognised and prioritised.
Dame Nicole Jacobs, Domestic Abuse Commissioner, says: “Recognition of the need to tackle domestic abuse has been hard-won, and campaigners, advocates, and survivors have worked tirelessly to build the response as we know it today.
“I have been lucky enough to be a part of this, and it is hugely humbling to receive a Damehood. This is for all of us.”
